Butterflies and Bugs 6th birthday party

Summer is the season of birthdays in our family. Both my kids and me have summer birthdays, but my daughter gets the most out of it. She celebrates her birthday in June and gets the best of me.After planning and going through her birthday,I don't have enough energy left in me to plan for my son's birthday. So he gets just a get together kind of  party.

So V's(my daughter) birthday is almost here..this weekend (I can't believe she'll be 7 already) and just before my kids birthdays I like to go through the pics of their past birthdays with them. When we were going through her 6th birthday pics I thought of making it my next post (though I can count hundreds of other 'to be done' things for her this year's birthday.)This blogging thing is definitely addictive.

Let's start with some decoration pics:

DIY Message board

Hello all

I wanted to share this message board, which I made for my daughter. She gets lot of stuff.... papers and notes( her teacher loves to share notes instead of emails, which I like very much) which were becoming an eye sore hanging on my refrigerator. That's when I decided to make something which would declutter my refrigerator's side.

This is what it looks like.(Just ignore my bad skills in taking photos.)

Here's how I made it:

1. Gather your supplies. You'll need a corkboard or a foam craft board, some kind of batting(mine is actually a scrap piece which came in some packing) hot glue gun and some ribbon.

2.  Rest is all easy Hot glue your batting on the cork board.

3. Put your fabric on your work space with wrong side facing up. Hot glue fabric on the board fitting it tightly.

This is how it'll look.

4. Just add some ribbons in diagonal strips and hot glue them at the back.

You have your message board ready.
My kitchen looks much more neat and clean since I transferred all paper work onto this board.I had all the supplies on hand which made the cost of this board almost nothing.

Let me know in your comments what do you think of it.

DIY jewellery

Hello there,
So here is my first post. All this is very new to me and feels like the time I used to write my assignments back in school(carefully framing sentences, looking for spelling mistakes..)
So after lot of thinking,( for about don't know how many days) as to what should be the first post about,I figured that it will be easier to start with just some pictures  post ,to give myself a hang of this blogging thing.

I am experimenting with some beading stuff.  I haven't  taken any classes but seen some you tube videos for basic techniques. My beading hobby started with the need to have some matching neckpieces for my Indian outfits, but is now slowly growing into one of my favourite things to do,whenever I can spare some time for myself ,that is.

So much for a just" Picture post" you'll say. So, here are some pictures taken by my wonderful husband.Enjoy!!

Muticoloured Bracelet with golden spacers. My favourite, goes with  almost any outfit.

                                                     Golden-brown necklace with matching earrings.

                                                                 Black-green necklace.

Blue glass beads with silver spacers. This piece actually got me into this beading hobby.

                                                        Black pendant necklace with earrings.

Hope you all liked the work.Let me know which one did you liked, by commenting below.Have a good day .
